Privacy notice

Understand the data before a learner joins.

This notice describes the current Kuki Math Quest prototype. It is written for learners, families, educators, and schools evaluating a controlled pilot.

School-readiness limitation: an automated server retention schedule and self-service server deletion workflow are not implemented yet. Do not use real learner data until the school and operator agree on retention, deletion, safeguarding, and incident procedures.

Information the product handles

Learner information

A learner-chosen display name, class code, language, and a random device/profile identifier.
A private access token used to reconnect that device to the learner's classroom profile.
Assignments, answers, correctness, attempt number, hint use, elapsed time, completion, rewards, and derived progress/mastery signals.

Educator and classroom information

Teacher name and email supplied directly when a Kuki educator account is created.
Class names, grades, join codes, posts, materials, assignments, feedback, grades, and exports created by the teacher.

Device information

The browser stores language and display preferences, a learner profile, downloaded classroom data, and pending progress in local browser storage. The service worker may cache public application files for offline use.

The learner flow does not require student email, precise location, payment information or an advertising identifier. A teacher may enable a private, class-only trail view that shows approved display names and game progress—not grades.

Why it is used

To connect a learner to the correct class and restore downloaded work on the same device.
To save, synchronize, and show learning progress, feedback, rewards, and teacher reports.
To protect teacher workspaces and keep classroom records separated by teacher and class.
To diagnose reliability or security problems during an authorized pilot.

No advertising or sale of learner information is part of this prototype.

Retention, access, export, and deletion

Retention: Server classroom records currently remain until the pilot operator removes them. There is no automatic expiry policy in the product today.
Teacher export: Authorized teachers can export a classroom progress CSV. This is a teaching report, not a complete copy of every stored technical record.
Local clearing: “Leave classroom” clears the current learner profile, downloaded classroom records, saved quest runs, and private runtime caches. The control below clears all learner records and Kuki Math Quest caches on this device. Neither action erases school server records.
Server access, correction, or deletion: Use the contact route supplied by the participating school or pilot administrator. This public demo does not yet publish a dedicated privacy mailbox or self-service server deletion control.

This action is local and cannot be undone. Contact the school or pilot operator separately about server records.

The learner and authorized teacher through the classroom experience.
The hosting/database operator needed to run the application.
Kuki's first-party account service for educator registration, sign-in, recovery, and sessions.
A school or authorized support person when needed for an approved pilot, safeguarding response, or legal obligation.

Class codes should be treated as private classroom credentials and shared only with the intended learners.

Children and safeguarding

Use the smallest practical display name; do not enter sensitive personal details in names, posts, answers, or feedback.
Schools remain responsible for consent or another lawful basis, classroom access, device sharing, and their safeguarding process.
Report a safety or security concern to the school's safeguarding lead and the pilot administrator. The product is not an emergency-reporting service.
Shared devices should leave the classroom and clear browser site data before being reassigned.

Material changes should be dated on this page before a school pilot expands. Questions should go through the participating school or pilot administrator. Also read the school-pilot terms.
